Frequently asked questions

Where do the exchange rates come from?

From reference-rate services: Frankfurter, which publishes rates from central banks, with ExchangeRate-API as a backup. You can pick one in Settings, or leave it on Auto. Cryptocurrency prices are provided by CoinMarketCap. Reference rates are for information; banks, cards, and exchange offices may charge a different rate.

Does Numo work without internet?

Yes. The latest downloaded rates are saved on your iPhone and used offline. The app shows how old the rates are and refreshes them when you are back online.

How do I keep different currencies for different trips?

Open Settings › Currency setups and tap New setup. Give it a name, an icon and at least two currencies. Then swipe the title on the main screen to switch between your setups and the Default list. Each setup keeps its own currencies. Tap a setup in Settings to edit it, or Default to change or reset your everyday list. Currency setups are part of Numo Pro.

How do I account for my bank's or card's markup?

Open Settings › Bank fee and enter a percentage, a fixed fee, or both. Numo applies it to every conversion, shows a cost breakdown and keeps the reference rate in view. Save fees like Card +2% or ATM +3% and switch between them with one tap. The result is an estimate; your bank's final charge may differ. Bank fees are part of Numo Pro.

How do price alerts work?

Create an alert for a currency or a coin and choose whether the rate should rise above or fall below a level. Numo sends a notification when it does. Alerts are checked against daily reference rates, published once a working day, so a notification can arrive hours after the rate moves. Numo Free includes 1 active price alert; Numo Pro includes 20.

How do I scan a price?

Tap the camera key on the keypad and point the camera at a price tag, a menu or a receipt, or pick a photo. Text is recognized on your iPhone; images are never uploaded. If the camera is off, allow it for Numo in the iPhone Settings app.

How do I convert a price from another app?

Select a price such as 25 € or $12.99 in Safari, Notes or another app, tap Share and choose Numo. Converting from other apps is part of Numo Pro.

How do I add a widget?

Touch and hold the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit or Customize, then add Numo. Widgets show your currencies using the rates saved in the app, so they work offline too. The Small rates widget is free; Numo Pro adds larger and Lock Screen widgets, Smart amounts and Rate trend.

I have Numo Pro. How do I restore it on a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Settings › Numo Pro in the app, and tap Restore Purchases. This works for the Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime plans.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions (Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions), choose Numo Pro, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also tap Manage Subscription in Settings › Numo Pro in the app. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next renewal; Numo Pro stays active until the period ends.

Does Numo show ads?

No. Numo has no ads, with or without Numo Pro, and does not track you. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I ask for a refund?

Purchases are processed by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
